Reflexology is an ancient healing practice of applying therapeutic pressure to specific points and areas on the feet, hands, and ears that benefits the whole body.  Reflexology connects areas on the outside of your feet to the inside of your body.  Reflexologists are guided by a foot map that represents reflex points that correspond to every organ, valve, muscle, etc., in the body.  Reflexology also rests on the belief, that qi (pronounced Chee) is the bodies “vital energy” and flows through each person. When a person feels

stressed, their body blocks qi which can cause an imbalance in the body and lead to illness. By using specific pressure techniques, reflexologists remove energy blockages and promote health in the related area reflexology aims to keep qi flowing through the body, keeping it balanced and disease free.

Frequently asked questions

What can I expect during a Reflexology session?

This service is provided in our therapy room, where you will begin with a warm relaxing foot soak. Your reflexology session will be tailored to your specific needs which will be determined during a discussion of your health history and current concerns with our reflexologist. You will then move to our relaxing heated massage table where your reflexologist will apply reflexology pressure to various areas based on the treatment plan. Pressure is applied to the hands and feet to relieve stress and tension, boost the immune system, provide pain relief, improve sleep, reduce blood pressure, and improve digestion and elimination. Like those other therapies, though, reflexology is complementary to medical treatments. It can be done alongside traditional care, but it is not an alternative to it, and reflexologists don’t diagnose or treat illnesses.
