Beginner Classes

Fundamentals of Pilates, Yoga, and Trampoline

So perfect for beginners! This FREE class reviews the essential Pilates and yoga fundamentals that are the basis for all the classes we teach. Although this class is not a mandatory prerequisite for yoga, we believe you will benefit from taking this class before enrolling in a multi-week yoga class. Each class is 30 minutes. This class is offered once a semester, please contact our office for the next dates.

Yoga

Gentle Yoga

Take this well-rounded yoga class and enjoy incorporating the ancient insights of yoga into wellness for today. Each class focuses on yoga as a vehicle for deep relaxation, body awareness, overall wellness, and healing. We offer modifications to accommodate all fitness and skill levels. Class is 60 minutes long and includes relaxation.

Yoga Basics Plus Core

Enjoy gentle postures and creative movement to restore your body’s natural balance. Attention will be given to common tension patterns in the shoulders and hips through breath-linked movement, dynamic and static stretching. This class is great for beginners and seasoned practitioners. All levels are welcome to explore their individual range of motion and ability.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga works deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses. It targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues, ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascial networks of the body rather than the muscles (which are the physical focus of Yang yoga practices.) Energetically, Yin yoga improves energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi in the organs. To be health, we need healthy organs as well as healthy muscles. Yin yoga also offer wonderful emotional and mental health benefits.

Yoga Nidra

or Yogic Sleep is a profoundly restorative and healing practice.  The process of yoga nidra combines meditation, intention, and relaxation to work at the most subtle level to restore balance by releasing excess tension and stress.  This practice is the art of “not doing,” taking your body and mind on a journey through different awareness techniques and giving yourself the permission to restore and revitalize your body on a deep level.  It is said that 45 minutes of yoga nidra is as powerful as 3-4 of hours of sleep!  All are welcome. There is very little movement during this practice allowing anyone with an openness to healing themselves practice.

Everybody Yoga

This is a class for everybody! We teach it as a non- competitive discipline where everyone works at their own pace and comfort level. This class recognizes we are ALL DIFFERENT and celebrates you! All poses can be modified to individual needs and each person is encouraged to listen and know their own body. You can make this class challenging or restful if you need it. Yoga meets your needs – you don’t have to meet the expectations of yoga or a teacher.
